We've heard about a software keyboard for webOS once before, much to Palm's chagrin, and now it's popped up once again in webOS 2.0.  Thanks to a bit of hacking, the full-on, Palm-developed software keyboard has made an appearance in webOS 2.0 handsets, which is just the Palm Pre 2 at this point.  After doing all of the necessary code work and rebooting the device, a user only has to hit Opt+Sym+K and voila!  A soft QWERTY appears before your very eyes (and takes up a good amount of the screen real estate).  As you can probably imagine, the keyboard is a bit cramped on the Pre 2's 3.1-inch display, and it's said to be a bit buggy as well.

The webOS software keyboard isn't of much use now, especially since you have to use the physical QWERTY to activate it, but it's a good sign that Palm has some full-touch devices in the pipeline.  We're all expecting some sort of tablet-style PalmPad at some point, but there's also the rumored Mansion on the horizon to consider, along with several other impending webOS devices.  Palm's physical keyboards are nice and all, but I, for one, welcome our new full-touch webOS overlords.
