We're still waiting for Gingerbread to make its public release, whenever that'll be, but the good news is that it looks like the OS is making good progress. An Android dev has come out and said that the GRH47B build of Android 2.3 has accessed his app. The full string of the build is Dalvik/1.4.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3; Nexus One Build/GRH47B). The last time we saw a Gingerbread build ping an app, it was the GRH14B build just a few short days ago, so things seem to be moving along smoothly.
It was around two weeks ago that Eric Schmidt said that Android 2.3 would be coming in the "next few weeks," and the latest rumor has OS pegged for a December 6th launch at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference. I'm not completely sold on the D debut, but with all of the mounting evidence, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gingerbread arrive some time around the 6th. Do you have any guesses as to when Android 2.3 will finally begin making its way to our dessert-hungry handsets?
