After releasing Android 2.1 for the CLIQ yesterday, Motorola has kept the Eclair goodness going today. Owners of the Motorola BACKFLIP on AT&T can now upgrade their handset to Android 2.1 from either Motorola or AT&T's websites, or you can hit "Check for updates" in your settings. Of course, with Android 2.1 comes a ton of enhancements (especially coming from 1.5), including Google Navigation, access to more apps in the market, seven home screens, and new widget features.
After being beta tested by 1,000 users, it's great to see the BACKFLIP finally get updated to a mostly-recent version of Android. While it would've been nice to see Android 2.2 sent out instead of 2.1, I'm sure that BACKFLIP owners will take whatever they can get after being stuck with 1.5 for eight months. Enjoy the update, BACKFLIPpers, especially because it's entirely possible that it's the last Android OS upgrade you'll see.
