Not that we're at all surprised thanks to the multitude of leaks that have popped up recently, but today Verizon finally made the Motorola DROID Pro official. Beginning tomorrow, November 9th, the DROID Pro will be available for pre-sale at Verizon's website as well as "select" brick and mortar stores, with a full launch on November 18th. With a final price tag of $179.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate, you'll be getting a 1GHz processor, 3.1-inch display, 5 megapixel camera, full portrait QWERTY keyboard, and Android 2.2 running beneath Moto's sorta-BLUR, sorta-not skin. Check out the full press release down below.
I'm surprised that Verizon and Motorola managed to get the price of the DROID Pro below $199.99 (and well below that $299.99 leak), even if it's only $20 less. It may not be much, but that could be important when customers are comparing the Pro to a BlackBerry device, especially when newer 'Berrys finally hit VZW. So, readers, with it's BlackBerry-esque keyboard and business features, how many people do you think will ditch RIM's handsets for a DROID Pro?
