We know that the Palm Pre 2 is slated to be coming to Verizon "in the coming months," and that HP/Palm will sell an unlocked GSM model, as well. There's no official launch date for the Pre 2 just yet, but the rumored November 11th launch date is looking awfully legit today thanks to a posting on HP's Facebook page. As you can see above, pre-orders for the Pre 2 will begin on November 8th (they refer to it as the "Palm Pre Plus 2," but we'll cut HP a little slack). The post doesn't specify whether it'll be the Verizon Pre 2, the GSM model, or both, but the good news is that we're less than a week from finding out.
The Pre 2 may not be the new webOS hardware that we were all hoping for, but the new design and 1GHz chip powering it all at least provides a decent stopgap while we wait for the real new webOS handsets. I'm hoping that HP/Palm can price the unlocked Pre 2 aggressively so that more devs come to the platform and add to the over 5,000 webOS apps available. Are any of you planning to pick up a Pre 2, whether it's on Verizon, AT&T, or the unlocked version?
