HTC is known for their unique device codenames (Supersonic, Lexikon), and today we've got one of their best ones today.  A device known as the HTC Mecha popped up on HTC's Sense website earlier today, alongside the Desire HD and Desire Z.  The image used for the phone was the original Hero, which I'm assuming was just being used as a placeholder.  Unfortunately, the Mecha was pulled from the site rather quickly, so there's not much else known about it besides the name.

Usually HTC changes up the codenames of their devices to something a little more consumer-friendly before they hit the market, like how the HTC Knight is rumored to become the HTC Speedy when it actually launches.  The Mecha, however, is one handset that I hope retains its name all the way until release.  It's not likely to happen, but a guy can hope, right?
