The last time we heard about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and its Android 2.1 update, SE said that the upgrade would be coming at the end of October. Well, it's almost Halloween and there's still no Eclair in the X10's trick-or-treat bag. Sony Ericsson did update their blog today, though, giving us a three minute video demonstrating all of the awesome features that X10 owners can expect when the update does finally drop. Given the fact that the video has been released and that there's still a few days left in October, could we still see the X10 family get Android 2.1 like Sony Ericsson promised? It's entirely possible, especially considering that Sony Ericsson UK just tweeted that the update is in the final testing stages and should be ready to go in the "next few days."
While it's certainly no Gingerbread, Android 2.1 should bring plenty of enhancements to tide XPERIA X10 owners over for a while. Hopefully after moving to 2.1, X10 owners can expect swifter upgrades in the future. Considering how long most of the X10 handsets have been around, I'm not positive that we'll be seeing Froyo or Gingerbread, but that doesn't mean we can't hope! How about it, Sony Ericsson?
