For every shiny new high-end Android smartphone that gets released, it seems that there is another cheaper, lower-specced Android device ready to help penetrate the mainstream.  T-Mobile recently released the G2 and its 3.7-inch display and 800MHz processor, and now they're gearing up to release the LG Optimus T.  Today on the T-Mobile Facebook page, the carrier announced that the Optimus T will be available beginning on November 3rd for only $29.99 with a two year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.  If you need a spec refresher, the Optimus T will pack a 3.2-inch screen, Android 2.2, and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

With its $30 price tag, the LG Optimus T will be launching as of the lowest-cost Android smartphones in recent memory.  It's been shown that Android has been experiencing explosive growth in the past year or so, but with devices like the Optimus T launching at low prices like this, the platform has the potential to grow even faster.  When you couple the $30 price with the possibility of a $10 per month, 200MB data plan, I'd say you've got the makings of a winner.
