It's not very often that you hear of wireless service providers giving away much of anything, but when it comes to their employees, they've been known to be a little gracious with pre-release device giveaways. A friend of mine (an AT&T employee) and his coworkers were each given a BlackBerry Torch prior to its release. I'm not sure how widespread that was, but it seems they're at it again in an attempt to get a final wave of interest built up before the actual release.
According to WPCentral, AT&T has started rolling at full speed with their Windows Phone 7 meetings and getting their employees properly trained with the new OS. Also, from a little bird on Twitter by the name of @mandolp, a supposed AT&T employee, claims that at one of the WP7 meetings that the VP of the company was there with a gift bag filled with one hundred Window Phone 7 devices for all attendees. How lucky and surprised were they? Which phones were given out exactly was not disclosed, but I know I wouldn't be complaining if I was given a free phone. Especially an unreleased phone! No word has been released on whether this is happening in all regions or just in special cases, but it's pretty nice of Ol' Blue to have their employees' backs.
Who's getting excited for WP7? I know originally I wasn't too thrilled, but now that the hype is growing, and quite rapidly at that, I'm starting to get a little interested. I'm not digging that UI though. Thank God for themes! Let us know how excited you are in the comments below and by taking this poll!
