We saw a barrage of entry-level Android smartphones unveiled at CTIA, and now T-Mobile is adding another one to the pile.  Originally known as the Huawei Ideos, the device will officially be called the T-Mobile Comet.  If the name looks familiar, that's because the name "Comet" appeared on a leaked T-Mobile accessory list about a month ago.  Specs for the Comet include Android 2.2, a 2.8-inch QVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, 3G, and Swype preloaded.  As you can see in the leaked document above, the Comet will remain in orbit until it lands on November 3rd for an undetermined price (likely below $100 on contract).  You can check out the video below to see the Comet/Ideos in action.

While the Comet may not appeal to those of us who love to be on the bleeding edge of the smartphone world, it still looks like a nice device for those customers looking for an affordable handset.  Its (hopefully) low price, combined with what looks to be vanilla Android 2.2, should make the Comet a hit with first-time buyers looking to get their feet wet in the Android pool.  If the November 3rd launch holds true, we should be hearing something official about the Comet soon, so stay tuned!
