HTC's Lexikon/Merge for Verizon has been in the spotlight quite a bit lately and, while all of the leaked photos are nice, I think everyone wants to know just how well the thing runs. Thankfully we've now got a a leak featuring the Lexikon being benchmarked on video. The handset does pretty well for itself in a Quadrant test, besting all other devices in the test. Everything else about the Lexikon is said to be just as great as its Quadrant score, especially the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Unfortunately for some, Bing is still baked into the Android 2.2 build of the phone; with all of the other greatness going on with the Lexikon, though, we're sure that you can look past it.
The one disappointing this about all of these Lexikon leaks is that we don't have a solid confirmation of the device's release date, so no one knows just how long we'll be stuck pining for it. A recent rumor suggested that we'll see it hit retail later this month or early next month and, judging by how often we've seen the Lexikon lately and how finished the hardware looks, I'm inclined to believe those dates. Now that we've got benchmarks, photos, and a possible launch window, all we need is a price. I'm thinking $199 on a two-year contract, what about you?
