We already know that HP/Palm is planning to launch their own entrant into the Great Tablet Race some time early next year and that it'll run webOS, but there's been little concrete information outside of that. Thank goodness for executive slip-ups, though, as HP's Executive Vice President Todd Bradley referred to the company's tablet as the "PalmPad" during an analyst meeting yesterday. Interestingly, HP filed for the PalmPad trademark in July, adding more evidence to the rumor that HP/Palm may go with that name for their final product.
With webOS 2.0 and some new hardware launching later this year and the PalmPad hitting retail in early 2011, HP/Palm will certainly have be busy over the next six months or so. Considering how quiet the company has been as of late, though, this flurry of new products is just what they need to catapult themselves back into the spotlight. How do you think a webOS tablet that is "similar to the iPad" will fare against all of the other tablets being launched in the near future?
