A little over a year ago, Apple made the extremely controversial decision to pull GV Mobile, a Google Voice app for iOS, from the App Store. Sean Kovac, developer of GV Mobile, was told that his app was removed due to it duplicating features that come with the iPhone (Phone, SMS, etc.). After Apple eased their rules for iOS app development and posted the App Store Review Guidelines, however, many thought that GV Mobile had another shot at life in the App Store. Kovac resubmitted the app and, lo and behold, GV Mobile has reappeared in the App Store. Now know as GV Mobile +, giving users all of the features you'd expect from a Google Voice app for the low price of $2.99. If you can't find the app in the store, give it some time and check again. The app just recently hit Apple's servers and is slowly rolling out across the country.
Considering how upset everyone was at Apple when they yanked the original GV Mobile app from the App Store, it's great to finally see it reappear. Some may feel that the price is a little steep, but it's a quality app that any anyone using Google Voice and iOS can get use out of. Plus, Kovac has announced that if #gvmobile becomes a trending topic on Twitter, he will make the app free for the night. Not a bad deal, right?
