Android tablets seem to be all the rage lately, with Samsung releasing its Galaxy Tab (which is set to be unveiled tomorrow) and Motorola's upcoming device codenamed Stingray. LG announced today that it, too, would be entering the tablet fray with its own device, called the Optimus Pad. Unfortunately, there's little information about the Optimus Pad other than the fact that it's running Android in a very thin body. LG did, however, say that the Optimus Pad is meant to compete with both the iPad and the Galaxy Tab.
It's pretty disappointing that we have basically no information about specs for the Optimus Pad, but that doesn't mean we can't speculate, right? Since LG said that the device is competing with the iPad and Galaxy Tab, I think it's safe to assume that the screen will be either 7 or 9 inches. Since we know it's running the Android OS, I would guess that it'll be running either Android 2.1 or 2.2 (hopefully 2.2). It would be nice to see vanilla Android on the Optimus Pad, but considering another LG Android device (the Ally) has a little bit of a skin on it, I'm assuming we'll see a similar skin on the Optimus Pad. I don't want to be the only one making guesses, though, so what do you all think will be inside LG's Optimus Pad?
