T-Mobile's mythical Project Emerald has been the center of speculation for months now, but a recent rumor brings up a new theory as to what T-Mo is planning. Phandroid reports that, according to a "reliable source," Project Emerald will involve the release of two "3.5G" devices for T-Mo's spiffy new HSPA+ network. The devices in question, says Phandroid's tipster, are the G1 Blaze/Vision, seen above, and the HTC Desire HD, seen below, which the source says will be called the myTouch HD when it lands on T-Mobile. When it comes to launching, the source says that T-Mo is planning a "secret launch" for the new handsets, with one landing on September 22nd and the other a week later on September 29th.
We've been hearing various rumors about T-Mobile's Project Emerald for some time now, so hopefully one of these rumors comes to fruition some time soon. Considering that Verizon has been the carrier to go to for Android lately, it'd be nice to see T-Mo steal the crown back from Big Red by releasing these new HSPA+ devices. If the rumored September launches are true, we should be hearing more in the near future, so keep your eyes and ears peeled!
