Remember the HTC Glacier that we saw on an internal bidding site a few months back? The device has made a return, this time appearing on the GLBenchmark Pro 1.1 charts, and its results are pretty hot. Only a Samsung Galaxy S and a pair of tablets with Tegra 2 chips beat the Glacier out. According the AlienBabelTech, the device is running a new dual-core Snapdragon chip. There's also been speculation that the Glacier is headed to T-Mobile, and that it is the carrier's infamous Project Emerald device that we've been hearing about.
A device with a dual-core Snapdragon chip definitely sounds hot, although I have my concerns about how long a battery would hold up with such powerful insides. With the speed at which smartphone tech is expanding, we need to get battery technology improved as well. Otherwise, we'll end up with handsets that have 3 GHz chips and 10 minutes of battery life. Still, I'm definitely interested in the Glacier, and I'm sure we'll be seeing more in the near future. Stay tuned!
