HTC's DROID Incredible has been plagued with delays for quite a while, and now Motorola's DROID X has experienced the same fate. According to Verizon's site, DROID X orders will now be shipped by August 3rd, the same date that Incredible owners have been waiting for. It's unclear what the cause of the delays may be, but I'm sure that demand for the gigantic device has strained Verizon's supply of the device. Interested customers may be better off checking his or her local Verizon store on a regular basis, as they are expected to receive new shipments of the DROID X a couple of times a week.
Before the DROID X's launch, Verizon stated that they would have enough supply of the Android phone to meet demand, but I guess demand was stronger than they anticipated. Perhaps all of the people that switched their order from an Incredible to a DROID X thwarted the carrier's plans for a smooth launch. In any case, it will be a couple of weeks before the DROID X is available online, so heading down to the local Verizon shop may be your best bet. Have any of you had trouble landing a DROID X?
