There have been concerns surrounding Verizon's upcoming launch of the Motorola DROID X, specifically about the number of devices that will be available for purchase. We reported the other day that Verizon's stores will be receiving anywhere between 5 and 60 DROID Xs per store, depending on how large the market is. This news worried many potential DROID X customers, but Verizon has chimed in to say that they believe they will be able to meet customer demand for the device tomorrow, July 15th. Verizon Wireless spokesperson Brenda Raney spoke to CNET about the DROID X recently and had this to say on the inventory situation:
"While we are currently experiencing delays on orders of one of our more popular phones. We view that as an anomaly driven by a combination of supply and popularity," she said. "At present, we feel that we have done everything possible to ensure we have inventory to meet customer needs around the Droid X--the proof will be in the execution on July 15."
Boy Genius Report has stated that their Verizon sources have reported anywhere between 50 and 100 DROID Xs for many stores, with 30,000 or more waiting in warehouses if inventory levels do sink. Considering the weight that Verizon has been throwing behind its DROID phones, especially the DROID X recently, I'm sure that they will make sure that anyone who wants a device will be able to get one.
