While most Android users are waiting patiently for their device to be called up to the Android 2.2 league, we're starting to see some devices announced that will be coming with Froyo built-in. LG announced a new line of smartphones today that will belong to the Optimus family of devices, two of which were revealed today and will be running Froyo upon release. All together, LG plans to release 10 devices under the Optimus brand this year. As for the two Android devices shown off today, we've got the Optimus One with Google and the Optimus Chic. From the look of the photos, the One will be running stock Android (also since it's a "with Google" device) while the Chic will be skinned. No news on pricing or release just yet, but with so many devices planned for the next six months, I'm sure we'll hear something soon.
It's great to see more devices that will be released running Android 2.2, especially with the vanilla version of the OS in tow. Let's hope that the specs for these phones are impressive since we haven't seen any high-end Android handset from the LG camp yet. Between the One and the Chic, which device looks better for you? As for me, I'm waiting for the inevitable announcement of the Optimus Prime. It only seems right.
