We've seen Apple hint at a possible version of iWork for iPhone in the past, and now they've done it again. This time, we're seeing the mention pop up on many international iPhone order pages on the Apple site. When a customer orders an unlocked iPhone from these sites and is given the chance to purchase Apple Care, he or she can learn more about the Apple Care service. This link leads to a description of software supported by Apple Care and specifically mentions "iWork for iPhone and other Apple-branded apps."
A release of iWork for iPhone wouldn't be a surprise for several reasons. Apple has already released Keynote, Pages, and Numbers for the iPad, so a mobile version is already available for iOS. The company also ported the iBooks app from the iPad to the iPhone with the release of iOS 4, showing us that Apple has the capability to port apps from the iPad to the iPhone. The popularity of applications like Documents To Go shows that the demand for word processing and other similar applications is on the go is already there. Finally, we can't forget the recently released iMovie for iPhone. iWork for iPhone seems almost inevitable at this point, so why not just make it official and give us some release and pricing info, Apple?
