After T-Mobile announced they would begin throttling the data speeds of customers using too much bandwidth as well as AT&T's new data plans, you had to expect Verizon and Sprint to make similar moves. If a leaked photo Engadget received is real, Sprint will begin throttling data later this summer. The image allegedly comes straight from Sprint's "The Playbook," but there hasn't been any solid confirmation of whether this is the real deal. Even if the photo is a fake, it's only a matter of time before all carriers implement a data throttling policy or tiered data plans similar to AT&T. Verizon's CEO has openly stated that they plan to offer tiered data plans when their LTE network is live, so start preparing for the end of unlimited data. For many users, tiered data plans won't be an issue since they use very little data even with the unlimited plans that they have now. What are your thoughts on tiered or throttled data?
Update: Looks like this is a feature for businesses to cut data for their employees and NOT something that customers will have to worry about. We'll keep you updated as we hear more!
