While it may be launching in the UK in a couple of days, it looks like people in North America will be waiting a little longer to get their hands on a Dell Streak. The 5-inch Android tablet will go on sale next month for US customers, although the exact date hasn't been locked down. Customers will be able purchase the device straight from Dell, unlocked, for $500, which isn't a bad price for an unlocked tablet/MID/phone running Android. The device is capable of using 7.2 Mbps HSPA, has a 5 megapixel camera, a VGA front-facing cam, a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, and will run the Android OS. While the Streak definitely looks like a slick device, it will probably be somewhat of a niche product, similar to the Nokia N900. A 5-inch screen is just a little too large for most people to consider and, similar to the Nexus One, the $500 asking price is too expensive for the mainstream consumer, who is used to cheap, on-contract phones. So, would any of you consider picking up the Streak for an on-the-go Android tablet?
