While everyone is loving the 1 GHz Snapdragon chips inside high-end phones lately, Qualcomm isn't stopping there. Engadget has reported that Qualcomm has begun to ship its new dual-core Snapdragon chipsets that are capable of running up to 1.2 GHz. The MSM8260 will support HSPA+ and the MSM8660 will work with HSPA+ and EV-DO Rev. B. The new Snapdragons also support 1080P video, GPS, a GPU with 2D/3D hardware acceleration, and a few other exciting features. The chipsets are destined for high-end smartphones, so here's to hoping we can expect to see these new 1.2 GHz Snapdragons in devices soon instead of those pokey 1 GHz chips that we've grown accustomed to.
