AT&T coverage got you down? Now you've only got to wait another nine days before you can enjoy your 3G phone the way you were meant to. AT&T's 3G Microcell, which hooks into your home Internet connection to provide you and up to nine other 3G-capable phones to provide full coverage where there was none before, will reportedly be available nationwide on May 16. AT&T has slowly been rolling out the device for the past couple of months, but knowing when it was available in your area was always tough to pin down.
The Microcell will cost $150 with no monthly fee but will use your existing cell minutes. If you'd like unlimited talk time you can opt to pay $20 per month, which will also drop the cost of the Microcell down to $50 after rebate. I'm sure that if you find the right AT&T rep and complain loudly, you could probably even get the device for free.
Is $150 too much to guarantee full service in your home? Do you think it's ridiculous that users must pay to fix AT&T's sometimes lackluster coverage? Shout it out in the comments below!
