There's no denying that the Sprint HTC EVO 4G stole the show at CTIA this year. Ever since then Sprint customers have been getting excited in anticipation of the device while others have been contemplating a switch to the Now network. How do I know? In nearly every post we've put up on the site related to the EVO 4G, people go wild in the comments begging for its release. What's more, in posts related to other highly capable devices expected this summer (the Samsung Galaxy S is just one example) people generally compare them to the EVO 4G, stating that the other device isn't as capable.
That being the case, I imagine there are several of you out there who will be excited to know there's a good chance you'll be able to pre-order the HTC EVO 4G from 'The Shack' (formerly RadioShack) sometime later this month. It looks like some tipsters sent Engadget a screen grab from The Shack's internal website with the following information standing out: "While we can't reveal all the details just yet, customers will be able to pre-order the EVO at THE SHACK later this month."
According to Gizmodo, the device is expected to be available in stores sometime between the 6th and 13th of June, but there's nothing official as of yet. Rumors of $199.99 pricing have also been floating around without any real confirmation, but it seems to be the standard price point, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the rumors are correct. High-end HTC devices are going like hot cakes these days - if you recall, both the HTC HD2 on T-Mobile and the HTC DROID Incredible on VZW sold out on their first day of availability. Keeping that in mind, it will be interesting to see what happens with the EVO 4G.
Anyone plan on pre-ordering your EVO 4G this month? Sound off in the comments!
