For all the times we've speculated on this, it's still kind of a shocker to actually read the Wall St Journal reporting it: Apple is apparently developing a version of iPhone for Verizon Wireless. This according to a front page "Breaking News" report that also mentions that a new version of iPhone is in the works for a summer launch.
That, literally, is the entire story. More as we find it out.
Update: WSJ has an actual article up now. And I quote, "Apple Inc. is developing a new iPhone to debut this summer and also appears to be working on a model for U.S. mobile phone operator Verizon Wireless, say people briefed on the matter." The purported Verizon-compatible CDMA iPhone would begin production in September, according to the report.
