It seems like I've been waiting for an Android-powered MID from Archos for a long time. It's really only been a few months since I first posted on it but it's an exciting prospect and we haven't been given anything but text bites to tide us over.

Of course all Android fans are curious to see how the OS will stand up outside of the mobile phone context. We're all waiting for more on the netbook front, and hopefully the Skytone will not disappoint. The telephony-enabled Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet is specifically geared towards media, so this is a chance for Android to spread it's wings, and hopefully, demonstrate its versatility.

Pocket Lint reports the the 10mm thin tablet with a 5" hi-res screen will be launched on September 15th. Any chance of a review unit, Archos?
