Michael Martin of Google and Blog was at SMX Advanced in Seattle over the last week, and WebProNews got an interview with him - embedded below. There is some interesting talk about location-based advertising, with a bit of overt Apple smacking thrown in for good measure. I can understand the debate about business practices, but I don't think Apple has done anything so egregious that it warrants throwing your iPhone 3G in the trash. Unless they get busted whipping seven-year-olds in a sweatshop, I'm comfortable saying that they make great products. I love my iPod Touch.
Martin mentions in a blog post that the Magic's processor is actually older than what is found in the G1, but that this results in much longer battery life and for whatever reason makes the Magic/Ion/MyTouch much more capable of running Adobe Flash content than the G1. It looks like there has been some confusion over the difference in processors, but Martin says he is getting a lot more time in between charges. He also writes that Android engineers at Google I/O told him that the G2 (ugh... for simplicity's sake!) will offer much better Flash performance than the G1. I can't wait to find out for myself.
