With the phrase "We can't afford to sell the Pre to the wrong customers" in big red letters, the latest Palm Pre document to escape the company is quite interesting, to say the least. Apparently, Sprint wants to sell the Palm Pre to certain demographics - which isn't exactly odd, considering the fact that most devices are targeted at certain groups - but Sprint's push to actually steer people away is a bit different. My guess would be it's because of inventory issues; they're trying to maximize activations, and it's better to push people onto another device than letting them walk because of Pre shortages.
At any rate, the page is pretty run of the mill - if you have IT needs, stick to Windows Mobile or BlackBerry. If you don't, webOS is perfect for you. Let's get real though, Sprint: I highly doubt that anyone waiting in line on Saturday morning is interested in a BlackBerry Curve.
