We reported about T-Mobile's upcoming entry into the wireless broadband market, and today, the news centers around Alltel's recent launch of a $40 plan - a drop from the usual $60 monthly fee. The drawback? You have to have a PDA with a Smart Choice plan (starting at $69.99 monthly). The benefit? You get truly unlimited high speed internet, with none of the 5GB limits that the other carriers enforce. Upon further research, however, the offer appears to be available in divested markets only.
