C is for Cookie, and that's good enough for me! Remember that song from Sesame Street? Anyway ... Cookie Monster might not be so interested in LG's new Cookie, but I'm guessing you are, since it's a cell phone and all.
LG officially launched their KP500 "Cookie" handset in the UK, Brazil, Thailand, and a few other non-US parts of the world, and it looks to be a sweet little touchscreen phone more or less on par with the likes of the Samsung Behold (T-Mobile) and Eternity (AT&T). 99 Pounds (which is roughly $220 USD) will get you a 3" touchscreen, 3 MP camera, "Active Flash UI," and the other featurephone niceties you've come to expect in this day and age, along with what I think is a lovely design. I'm liking the home screen widgets in the press materials I've seen thus far, I must say.
No word on whether or not this Cookie is bound for the US, but I could see a CDMA version settling nicely into Verizon's lineup, couldn't you? I mean, on the one hand it sounds pretty similar to the LG Dare, but on the other hand Dare's been out for over six months now, and that's like Way Old in cell phone years.
Here's a rather odd LG promo video to whet your appetite for Cookies just a bit more:
