Wasn't so long ago that Sprint CEO Dan Hesse was saying that Google's Android OS just wasn't "good enough to put the Sprint brand on it."  Sounds like Android got a whole lot better in an awful big hurry ... or Sprint's scrambling to right its ship amidst reports of impending layoffs and price cuts.  Whatever the case may be, it looks like we'll be hearing something new about Sprint and Google sitting in an Android Tree come December 12th.

Sprint issued a press release today announcing the schedule for their Application Developer Conference, and the shindig will be highlighted by a keynote address by Google's VP of Mobile Technology, Rich Miner, according to this report on GigaOm. Whether or not a Sprint Android phone might be announced at the conference is obviously anyone's guess, but I'll take this as a sign that Sprint and Google are a bit more on the same page when it comes to an Android handset worthy of the SprintSpeed logo then they were when Mr. Hesse made his remarks a few weeks ago.
