It's called the HTC MAX 4G, and unless you're in the coverage area of Russian WiMAX service provider Yota, you can forget about using one... for now.

What's important here is that the technology is being utilized by a major cell manufacturer and rolled out to consumers. WiMAX represents a new era of mobile computing, where large file transfers, video calls, movies on demand, online gaming, live television, FULL "full browsing," and truly mobile VoIP are standard features for pocketable phones.

The MAX 4G comes with a 528 MHz processor; 256MB ROM, 288MB RAM, and 8GB of flash memory; Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro with HTC's TouchFlo 3D UI; GPS; a 5 MP primary cam and a VGA secondary cam; accelerometers offering auto-rotate to landscape capability; and best of all, an incredible 3.8" TFT-LCD touchscreen with 480 X 800 pixels and WVGA resolution.

Maybe we can precipitate a US release through a mass consciousness experiment. Everyone assume the lotus position and repeat after me: XOHMMMMM... XOHMMMMM...
