The banners up at the Yerba Buena Arts Center in San Francisco are big, and Apple is reportedly telling members of the press that their "Let's Rock" media event scheduled for tomorrow morning is going to be big, too. Of course that may just be Apple trying to spin last week's "non-buzz" that the event is actually going to be a yawn fest. While the event will likely focus on the launch of new iPods - the nano and Touch, if you believe the rumors - sources are also saying to be on the lookout for the much anticipated iPhone firmware v2.1 tomorrow morning.
Along with iTunes 8, iPhone 2.1 would obviously affect iPhone users, and reports point to Apple's readying a much more stable platform for the phone - a much needed fix to many bugs plaguing version 2 of the OS, which comes pre-installed on the new iPhone 3G model. iPhone 3G owners have been complaining about problems ranging from frequent application crashes to long delays while entering text since the device was released nearly three months ago.
Apple rumors site MacRumors is suggesting that Apple may be readying a few "previously unannounced" features for the new iPhone firmware release. Whatever happens, it'll happen starting tomorrow morning at 10 am Pacific Time.
