An SE promo video for their long-awaited "Paris" smartphone hit the Web today and I'm just as eager to get my paws on this one as I was when I first blogged about it ten years ago. Okay, not TEN years ago ... but it feels like that long already.
Paris is the latest evolution of SE's UIQ-based smartphone line, and looks to combine the dual-rocker QWERTY board of the m600i and P1i with a finger-friendly touchscreen and slider form factor. There's also a 5MP camera with flash in there for good measure. It's hard to tell from the video just how thick this thing's gonna be, which is cause for a bit of concern, and of course there are no real specs or anything like a launch date. So who really knows? Can you tell I'm a little frustrated with SE? They make such stylish phones, and for my money UIQ's got a lot of potential as a powerful yet user friendly platform. But how long has this one been in the rumor mill already? Here's hoping for a smooth, stable Paris release with some North American 3G ... and soon!
