AT&T today announced that they're planning to rollout HSUPA service to the six remaining markets across their 3G wireless broadband network.  When they're done, AT&T will be the only US carrier to have full HSDPA/HSUPA - that is, fast downloading and uploading - across their 3G network.  HSPA, which stands for High Speed Packet Access, promises wireless data speeds of up to 1.4Mbps Down and 800Kbps Up.  That's gettin' near good enough to be your primary Net connection.

AT&T's press release is a little confusing, as it first says they'll be rolling out HSUPA in the "six remaining markets" by the end of June.  Then it goes on to say, " Today the superfast AT&T 3G network is available in more than 275 markets. By year-end, the AT&T 3G network will be available in nearly 350 markets."  I think what's going on is that they're gonna bring HSUPA to all current 3G markets by the end of next month, and then add new 3G markets to get near that 350 mark by the end of the year.

In any case, this is good news for AT&T customers.  And, of course, should spark another round of, "What does this have to do with 3G iPhone?" rumors.  I'll leave that part alone for now and instead give you a link to the full press release.
