By now you've heard about RIM's newly announced flagship, the BlackBerry Bold 9000. With its supercharged processor, 3G connectivity, and iPhone-esque good looks, Bold is sure to be a big seller (seriously, is every high-end phone now going to be black with a chrome rim?). Question is, when can you and your AMEX Platinum card get your mitts on the next-gen BlackBerry?
Infosync World seemed to have broken pricing and release date info last week, but after getting some press for their scoop, they clarified that they were merely making educated guesses. So maybe the T-Mob Bold might drop before September after all?
According to TmoNews and now Boy Genius Report, yes. Sort of.
TmoNews has this crazy list of 16 handsets that really, honestly, maybe just might launch between June 16 and August 1, and the Bold is slotted in at number 10. TmoNews claims their info is sourced from inside the carrier but also adds the disclaimer, "usually it is more of a good guess of what will happen, rather than an set-in-stone depiction of upcoming launches." Go easy, grammar police ;-)
Meantime, BGR got word from a "Rogers ninja" that Canadian carrier Rogers Wireless is looking at launching Bold sometime between June 9th and 29th. That both jibes with the purported T-Mobile launch window and is way more palatable than that July-September stuff Infosync's predicting.
That's not to say that Infosync's wrong ... or that I have any idea when Bold will drop. Rather, I'd just like it sooner than later. Nothing says summertime like new gadgets to play with, right?
