Verizon Wireless unveiled their long-awaited version of the popular RIM BlackBerry Curve smartphone, the EV-DO and GPS enabled 8330.  The 8330 is a CDMA variant of the consumer-friendly Curve that's been available to AT&T and T-Mobile customers for awhile now, and features high speed cellular data over VZW's EV-DO network as well as integrated GPS with support for the carrier's VZ Navigator location based services.

This Curve leaves off the Wi-Fi capabilities found on T-Mobile's version of the device (reviewed here), which might be a sticking point for some.  While VZW's EV-DO network provides "near broadband" speeds via cellular data, their data plans tend to be more expensive than T-Mob's EDGE-only BlackBerry plans.

VZW's Curve 8830 will come in "a liquid silver-colored finish with chrome highlights," and be available starting in May.  The phone is slated to sell for $269.99 after a $50 rebate with a two-year service agreement, and there's word that Verizon will also be offering a $100 purchase credit for folks who sign up for voice and data plans at the time of purchase.
