Since your iPod touch is essentially an iPhone without cellular voice calling capability it seemed only a matter of time before someone was able to create a hack that will allow the user to make and receive voice calls using their WiFi connection. A guy named Marian took the first step when he built a pre-amped microphone to be used with the iPod Touch.
Now according to Erica Sadun at tuaw.com, she reports that an iPod touch modder named ?eok? was successful at porting Samuels SvSIP to the iPod and was able to make and receive voice calls. Unfortunately when Erica tried it herself, she in her own words ?didn't get very far?. So I guess we are just going to have to wait for those screenshots Marian and eok have promised to deliver in order to confirm the claim.
Who knows? - if this actually works it will probably increase sales of both the iPhone and iPod Touch. Can you say Skype anyone?
