Yes, it is almost too good to be true, but Verizon announced today it will allow customers to use any device, app and software package that the company doesn't currently offer on their network. Of course the phones will have to meet the technical standards set by Verizon to ensure network compatibility.
The techno mumbo jumbo aside this is probably the single best thing that could happen for not only Verizon customers, but manufactures and software developers. Could we see a CDMA version of the N95 (8GB of course) hit the shelves by sometime early next year? Not likely, but it will be interesting to see which manufacturer is the first to offer a handset - Nokia or Motorola???
Now if they could just somehow incorporate a SIM card we would be all set!
