At the risk of singling out any one person amongst the many who are putting their time, talents, and effort into the iPhone development community, I just want to give a timely shout-out to Erica Sadun of The Unofficial Apple Weblog. This comes on the heels of encouraging news that access has been gained to the iPhone 1.1.1 file tree - a big step towards folks being able to run third party apps in harmony with Apple's latest iPhone software update.
Erica herself is quick to point out her latest liveblogged feat is an "attempt to duplicate" a hack invented by two other folks - "dinopio" and "Edgan." So I'm in no way trying to displace or take away credit from folks like them, the iPhone Dev Team, and everyone else who made it possible for me to play Yahtzee on my T-Mobile-ized iPhone while riding the bus to the office today. Instead, from one blogger to another, I just wanted to thanks Erica for publishing details about this l337 work in a way that a semi-technical n00b like me can understand and relay to my readers.
