HOLMDEL, N.J., Sept 05, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Vonage America Inc., a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG), a leading provider of broadband telephone service, announced today that customers can access their web accounts at no charge for a full billing history, including the amount of Federal Excise Tax (FET) paid on long distance phone service.
If you are a Vonage subscriber, you are eligible for a refund from the federal government. The refunds, including interest, will be provided to taxpayers for excise taxes on their long distance phone services billed after February 28, 2003, and before August 1, 2006. Taxpayers can claim the refunds in their 2006 federal tax returns. The IRS will allow taxpayers to elect a safe harbor amount or claim the actual tax paid. Vonage provides its customers with the billing information needed to file for a FET refund.

Vonage customers may obtain their billing history by logging onto their web account. Log onto the Vonage.com homepage, click on Billing, then Billing History, and you will have access to your monthly statements, along with information on the Federal Excise Taxes you paid.
