Announced by Motorola president and CEO Ed Zanders, the Motorola Q is expected to be available on the U.S. EV-DO networks run by Verizon Wireless and Sprint/Nextel.  The Motorla Q smartphone, designed to compete with RIM's BlackBerry line, comes equipped with features that include a QWERTY keyboard, Windows Mobile 5.0 OS, and a video camera.       

As the second leading provider of cellular devices behind Nokia, Motorola is excited about the release of the new Q.  Zander played up the device as an "enterprise tool".  "The Q will be ideal for applications such as using spreadsheets and CRM (customer relationship management) software on the road", he also stated.   

If the release of the Q happens as planned, we expect to see it available from WireFly, Foncentral, Let's Talk, and Amazon not far behind Verizon or Sprint.  The cellular phone distributors normally have access to new devices with two weeks of the announced release, and offer them at a discount.
