Too early to think about gifts for this Holiday season? Sony Ericsson doesn't think so! Today they announced their new line of five devices that should be able to satisfy everyone on your shopping list. Expected to be available my the end of the Summer, Sony Ericsson is giving us two new flip phones, two new walkman phones, and a device that will be able to recognize Chinese character handwriting. According to Steve Walker, head of product marketing, "the launches will be spread through the third quarter. Having phones in the market is very important for Q4 sales. We've announced more phones than last year. There's now something for everyone in our portfolio."
Here is a little preview of what we can expect to come from Sony Ericsson later this year.
Of the two flip style phones, the Z550 and the Z710, the latter is expected to become a great new business phone that offers connectivity thru most 2G GSM networks, Bluetooth 2.0 technology, and even a 2 megapixel camera.
Most of the time when you go to the gym to work out you leave your cell phone in the car or your locker. Well your not going to want to anymore when you have the W710 walkman phone. Considered to also be a "fitness phone", the W710 comes equipped with a fitness software program that allows for you to keep track of any physical exercise while still enjoying your favorite music. Great new accessories such as special earphones and a carrying strap will be available to make it easy to manage.
With the W800 series expanding after the W810, now the new W850 walkman phone has been announced. Expected to be the first slider model in the U.S., it comes with new music software that allows you to navigate thru your songs by name much quicker then before.
And for the Chinese market, the M608c, is a new e-mail phone that will actually recognize Chinese characters written on the screen. "China is the single largest market for Sony Ericsson and a strategic base for global business success," Gunilla Nordstrom, president of Sony Ericsson China, said.
So for those on you on GSM carriers, keep your fingers crossed that your provider will be carrying these great new devices for you to purchase later this year.
