This new service option allows subscribers to use their MetroPCS wireless service when traveling outside of their home area in major metropolitan areas within the United States. Additionally, when customers travel to other MetroPCS markets, they will be able to use their phone for no additional charge. The customer's service and phone will operate as if they were in their home coverage area.

TravelTalk was designed to overcome many of the frustrations consumers experience when using a roaming product. There are built in features with TravelTalk that allow customers to control the amount of money they spend when traveling. With TravelTalk, customers don't have to worry about an outrageous bill at the end of the month. The service is designed to prompt the customer on both inbound and outbound calls that they are using TravelTalk and how much it will cost. This function allows customers to easily manage their travel expenses.

MetroPCS service plans start at $30 and $35 per month for unlimited, anytime local calling, and for $40 per month, subscribers can also enjoy unlimited, anytime domestic long distance service in the continental United States. MetroPCS offers additional unlimited services for a flat monthly rate that can be added to the $35 and $40 plans such as directory assistance, picture messaging, as well as domestic and international text messaging. For $45 a month,subscribers will receive unlimited local and long distance calling, unlimited text and picture messaging, enhanced voice mail, 3-way calling, caller ID and call waiting. Taxes and fees are not included in these rates. Service with MetroPCS requires no contract and no credit check. MetroPCS built its own 3G network from the ground up in all its markets utilizing Lucent Technologies equipment.
