12/26/2005 BEDMINSTER, NJ ? The holiday season means new beginnings, New Year's resolutions and new wireless phones.
As customers begin to use the new wireless phones they received over the holidays, many old wireless phones will be de-activated and tossed in a closet or drawer. Rather than waiting until spring cleaning comes around to find a use for the old wireless phones, Verizon Wireless encourages customers to donate them to the company's HopeLine® program, which recycles and refurbishes wireless phones to help victims of domestic violence.
HopeLine drop off locations can be found in all Verizon Wireless Communications Stores across the country, making donating old phones, batteries and chargers quick and easy. If customers can't make it to a store, phones and accessories can also be sent to:

Verizon Wireless is a recognized corporate leader for its commitment to preventing domestic violence and raising awareness of the issue. The HopeLine program gives customers an environmentally safe option for disposing their no-longer-used wireless phones, while providing a simple way to make a difference in the lives of domestic violence victims.
HopeLine collects wireless phones and accessories from any wireless service provider, and then refurbishes the phones or recycles them in an environmentally safe way. Proceeds from the HopeLine program benefit victims of domestic violence and non-profit advocacy agencies, providing essential communication tools of wireless phones and wireless services, and financial grants.
Since HopeLine's national recycling program began in 2001, consumers have donated more than 2.5 million phones, and Verizon Wireless has provided more than $8 million in financial grants, phones and services and more than $1.5 million in cash grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations across the country.
