Oklahoma City ? Cellular One executives presented the Children's Organ Transplant Association, (COTA) with a check for $12,737.25 on December 16, 2005. The money was raised from Cellular One's Restart cell phone recycling program. The York Family of Shawnee, Oklahoma, whose son is awaiting a lifesaving liver transplant, was on hand to represent the COTA patients nationwide who benefit from this collaboration. Cellular One will continue the Restart program into 2006, and encourages residents to bring their old or no longer working cell phones into Cellular One's retail locations.
The Children's Organ Transplant Association provides fundraising assistance for children and young adults needing life-saving transplants and promotes organ, marrow and tissue donation.
