. Power and Associates Study Ranks LG Tops Among Mobile Phone Manufacturers in a Tie
SAN DIEGO, October 27, 2005 ? According to J.D. Power and Associates, LG Electronics MobileComm (LG Mobile Phones) is the highest ranked mobile phone manufacturer in customer satisfaction when compared among the eight largest wireless handset manufacturers. LG tied for the highest score of 107 on the customer satisfaction index, well above the industry average of 97. The J.D. Power and Associates study measures customer satisfaction in five weighted categories (physical design- 24%, operation- 22%, features- 20%, handset durability- 19%, battery life- 15%) among 17,701 households owning their mobile phones for less than two years.
The J.D Power and Associates study reveals that LG Mobile Phones performed particularly well in the physical design category and scored highest for battery functionality among the eight major mobile phone manufacturers. LG Mobile Phones has an established reputation as a leader in cutting edge mobile phones that are both stylish and functional. Consumers are noticing, with the weight of the physical design category increasing 19% since 2003, and now being the most important of five factors in determining customer satisfaction.
