There's no denying it - Microsoft angered many HD2 owners when they announced that the device wouldn't be eligible for Windows Phone 7 Series.  But who says you can't have some fun of your own?  A hacker was able to successfully port the upcoming operating system onto his HD2, and if the videos are any indication, it was a success.

Unfortunately, those interested in Windows Phone 7 Series may have to go the way of hacking if they want the OS on their devices, as Microsoft has clearly dictated their interest in the "three chassis" concept going forward.  But hey, good fun for a lazy Saturday! 

Who's planning to try the porting process (at your own risk, of course)?

Update: Bummer.  As PocketNow reported earlier, looks like this can be done to any device via the emulator.  Oh well - still cool, in my book!
