You guys liked it when I gave you 10 of the best new apps of February 2015 so I’m back with 10 new apps for the month of March. They are in no particular order so some of these apps are new, some of them are also available on Android, and some of them are just plain awesome.

ARWatch

The first watch is called ARWatch. I actually made a separate video for it because I liked it that much. But basically, what it does is that it allows you to try the Apple Watch using Augmented Reality. So you will need a print out and cut out a little tracker to place on your wrist. But the app does most of the work for you so it will digitally place a 38 or 42mm Apple Watch on your wrist in a multitude of colors. The one downside of the app is that it’s not on the App Store. So if you want to try this app out for yourself, I will include a link to watch that video right here where I’ll show you how to get this app. But it’s definitely worth checking out.

Google Calendar

The next app worth checking out is Google Calendar. That’s right, Google Calendar recently made its way to iOS. It allows you to sink events with all of your Google accounts. Like Gmail for example, will automatically work with Google Calendar and integrate certain events into your calendar automatically. The calendar app itself is constructed with Google’s material design theme present in most of its apps, which makes it not only aesthetically pleasing to use but very functional and very simple which I really like a lot.

Scannable          

Scannable is an app by Evernote that, as its name applies, allows you to scan documents or business cards by using your camera and it’s as simple as that. You can crop or rotate the document you scanned and share it by either sending it through email, a message or the Evernote app itself. It’s definitely worth checking out if you find yourselves scanning documents the old-fashioned way.

Alien Menace

Alien Menace is a new strategy turn based game that takes on the classic arcade aesthetics. The general synopsis is that the starship Paladin is under attack by the aliens and they are starting to invade. You have to use your weapons to destroy the aliens and in the process you can get new units and upgrade the abilities and so forth. It’s pretty fun. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new strategy game.

Darkroom

Darkroom is a powerful photo editing app that allows you to make adjustments kind of similar to Lightroom on the PC. For example, you can use curves to perfect the tone with raw access to RGB channels. Although to enable this feature, you will have to pay for it and it costs about $1.00. But it’s not too bad.

There are also filters that you can create yourself as well as filters that are pre-installed. But the layout is pretty easy to use and the app offers many useful features to tweak and enhance your photos any way you like.

Filters

Now if you find yourself using filters rather than tweaking specific components like contrast or brightness, Filters for iPhone lets you transform your photos with over 800 textured overlays, light tweaks, vintage film recreations, and visual effects. Now I actually didn’t find the layout to be as intuitive as the Darkroom app but there’s no question it does go above and beyond in terms of the filters. It’s kind of like Instagram on steroids so if you like Instagram, you’re definitely going to like this app.

Gogobot

Gogobot is an app that helps you keep track of many events and places in your area more so than say Google Maps. For example, it’ll inform you of some of the best new events and places near you. You can easily find places based of the Stay, Eat or Play categories and depending on where you’re at and how popular the app is or becomes, there will be an active feed of people discussing the areas, events and places to visit in your area. This app also does display the weather and lets you review certain places. You can even connect it to Facebook to use this app with your friends. But I’m just always looking for new places to check out, which is why I found this app very interesting.

CARROT Weather

CARROT Weather is a weather voice assistant that gives you the weather in a very sarcastic, humorous manner. Now the weather displays is surprisingly accurate considering just how silly the app and voice assistant is. In terms of the weather, it’ll give you the current temperature and the feels like temperature along with the wind speed. And you can even track the weather hourly, daily and short term (like really short term in the hour).

Periscope

Periscope is a new app that you might have seen a lot of other YouTubers have started to use. It’s a social network for livestreaming that links with your Twitter account. You have the option to view other live networks going on around the world. You can go live yourself or you can follow other users. I haven’t actually gone live myself with this app but I have made an account, which is hooked up to my Twitter. I guess if you guys want to follow me there, my username is @BeauHD. But it’s a neat app that’s getting very popular.

Audvisor

Now I usually like to end with a rather unusual but fun app. This app is called Audvisor, I think I’m saying that right. Basically, it’s an app that gives you some motivational or insightful audio clips from some of the world’s experts all under 3 minutes. I’m not gonna lie. It’s kind of a weird app but you can actually learn a lot from this app just by listening to some of these audio clips maybe each day or a few times a week.
